MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Pacers Experiential Events is a premier events venue in Thamaga, Botswana, catering to corporate, social, and cultural gatherings. Offering flexible indoor and outdoor spaces, the venue can host events such as festivals, exhibitions, weddings, conferences, and community functions. The dual-location approach ensures a broader market reach, leveraging the growing demand for high-quality event spaces in Botswana.
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and driven Marketing & Business Development Officer to lead the growth and visibility of our venue. This hybrid role combines creative marketing leadership with proactive business development initiatives. You will be responsible for building brand awareness, attracting new clients, forging partnerships, and driving revenue through strategic marketing campaigns and business outreach.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

Marketing Strategy & Execution

 

 

* Develop and lead the overall marketing strategy to promote the venue’s space and services.
* Manage digital marketing campaigns across social media, email, web, and advertising platforms.
* Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing materials including brochures, videos, ads, and signage.
* Maintain and update the venue’s website with SEO-optimized content and fresh visuals.
* Track campaign performance using analytics tools; provide insights and recommendations.
* Ensure brand consistency across all internal and external communications.
* Identify and pursue new market opportunities in the corporate, social, cultural, and tourism sectors.
* Build relationships with events planners, local businesses, travel/tourism partners, and industry vendors.
* Develop and manage B2B outreach programs to attract corporate events and strategic partnerships.
* Represent the venue at industry expos, networking events, and trade shows.
* Create customized proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
* Collaborate with the sales and event coordination teams to ensure smooth lead conversion and client satisfaction.
* Manage the marketing and sales support team, freelancers, or external agencies as needed.
* Collaborate with internal departments to align promotional efforts with event calendars and operational goals.
* Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to inform strategic direction.
* Report regularly on marketing and business development KPIs to senior leadership.

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

* Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Communications, Hospitality, or related field.
* 5+ years of experience in marketing and/or business development, preferably within the events or hospitality industry.
* Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies and business growth initiatives.
* Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools, platforms, and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Ads, Mailchimp).
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational and project management abilities.
* Proficiency in CRM and event management software is a plus.
