CONTROLLING LEAD

To direct the planning, controlling, analysis and reporting of FSG group financial performance with the aim of identifying opportunities for service and performance improvement to meet reporting needs. To support sustained improvement on revenue and profitability and direct cost efficiency.

FSG Limited is Botswana’s leading funeral services provider with 22 branches across Botswana and with significant presence in South Africa, and Zambia.

Applications are invited from qualified Botswana citizens for the position of Controlling Lead tenable at Gaborone.

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and part qualification

  • 3 years’ experience

  • Strong knowledge in controlling and accounting (including IFRS and cash)

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Lead the financial results review processes

  • Organize presentations and analysis of financial and business performance

  • Provide analysis of business performance to management including identification of risks & opportunities, and recommending improvements based on analysis and market information

  • Propose corrective actions, monitor, and report on subsequent implementation

  • Ensure effective support to the operational business units

  • Model strategic plans and set company scorecard

  • Steer budgeting cycle and ensure engagement with operational business units on financial targets and objectives

  • Analyse & review annual budgets submissions and forecasts

  • Vet business cases and assess how they fit into the company strategy

  • Participate in major company game changing projects

  • Work with management to increase levels of financial awareness and capability to inject a greater sense of financial awareness in decision making

  • Ensure relevant and actionable information is availed to departments

  • Advise and review month end accruals and provisioning for management accounts

  • Assist to formulate the cash flow forecasts

  • Develop own knowledge and ensure international benchmarks are utilized in reporting. Share best practice among FSG group to improve efficiency and profitability

  • Initiate digitalization
