CEEP COORDINATOR
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
To coordinate and implement the Community Economic Empowerment Programme (CEEP) by facilitating local procurement, enterprise development, and supplier capacity-building initiatives to ensure community participation, economic inclusion, and alignment with the mine’s localisation and social performance objectives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- Coordinating the identification and engagement of local businesses and suppliers eligible for inclusion in the CEEP.
- Liaising with community leaders, local authorities and internal departments to identify procurement opportunities for local enterprises.
- Facilitating supplier development initiatives such as training, mentorship and compliance support to improve supplier capability.
- Ensuring that local procurement targets and commitments are monitored, tracked and reported accurately.
- Maintaining an up-to-date database of community suppliers, contracts awarded and performance metrics.
- Working with the supply chain team to ensure local suppliers are included in RFQs, tenders, and subcontracting processes.
- Monitoring supplier performance and provide support in resolving delivery or compliance issues.
- Preparing Local supply plans and monitoring progress and reporting on such initiatives monthly
- Preparing regular reports for internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and the community on CEEP progress.
- Promoting alignment of CEEP with ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) standards and the mine’s Social License to Operate.
- Supporting grievance management related to local procurement and economic inclusion.
- Organising community awareness sessions and forums to educate stakeholders on procurement processes and business readiness.
- Facilitating linkages between community suppliers and national development agencies, training centres, or financiers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Development Studies, Supply Chain Management, Social Sciences, or related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in community development, procurement, enterprise development, or stakeholder relations
- Certification in procurement, local economic development, or community engagement is an added advantage
- Experience working in a mining or industrial environment with exposure to CEEP or local content programs
- Proven experience facilitating SMME capacity-building and community engagement
