Direct Sales Officer -SME Business Accounts Acquisition
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans to acquire new SME and business clients across various sectors.
- Identify and pursue high-value SME prospects through market intelligence, referrals, and networking.
- Lead client onboarding processes, ensuring compliance with KYC/AML and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and cross-sell a full suite of banking products including business accounts, loans, trade finance, POS/QR solutions, and bancassurance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with SME clients to drive customer satisfaction and long-term value.
- Collaborate with internal teams (credit, operations, product) to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and risks.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, pipeline updates, and forecasts to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to risk management frameworks and drive resolution of audit findings.
- Mentor and support junior sales staff or agents in achieving their targets.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Strong business development and relationship management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Deep understanding of SME banking products and market dynamics
- Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
- Ability to work independently and lead acquisition initiatives
Academic / Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or a related field
- Professional certifications in sales, credit, or banking are an added advantage
Experience Required
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in SME or business banking
- Proven track record in client acquisition and portfolio growth
- Experience in managing a sales team or working in a target-driven environment is preferred
