About Us

Frostan Limited is a Tanzanian company that specializes in the cold-chain industry and agro-food processing. The company was founded in 2010 and has since become a key player in providing temperature-controlled food products and logistical services within the region. Frostan’s mission is to offer a sustainable and dynamic production and distribution model that is committed to nutritional, social, environmental, and economic standards.

The company is headquartered in Dar es Salaam, with additional operational sites, including a cattle and chicken processing plant in the Iringa region.

Products and Services

Frostan’s business is centered on two main areas: its own food products and third-party cold-chain logistics services.

Food Products:

• Meat: The company produces and distributes its own meat range, including beef and chicken, under the “Nyam Nyam” brand. Their products are Halal certified.
• Other food items: Frostan also has quality-assured brands for fish (Samaki), potatoes (Viva viazi), vegetables (Mboga Mboga), and fruits (Matunda).

Logistical and Processing Services:

• Cold Storage: Frostan operates a large-scale, temperature-controlled storage facility, offering a wide range of cold storage services.
• Cold Chain Logistics: The company provides safe transportation for temperature-sensitive goods such as meat, seafood, and horticultural products.
• Processing & Packaging: Frostan’s services include sorting, cutting, freezing (including blast freezing and IQF), and packaging of food products.
• Customs & Documentation: They also offer administrative services to assist with import, export, and customs documentation.

Frostan’s strategy is to integrate various agricultural value chains to become a comprehensive “one-stop-shop” for locally produced food. They work with small-scale farmers and agricultural associations to ensure quality and support the local economy.
