About Us

Sotta Mining Corporation Limited (SMCL) is a Tanzanian-incorporated joint venture established to develop the Nyanzaga Gold Project—one of the country’s most ambitious mining undertakings in recent years. The company’s equity structure includes 84% ownership by Perseus Mining Limited (via Nyanzaga Mining Company Ltd) and 20% ownership by the Government of Tanzania—the first mining project in the country where governmental stake has exceeded the statutory minimum of 16% .

Headquartered in the Sengerema District of Mwanza Region, approximately 60 km southwest of Mwanza on the shores of Lake Victoria, Sotta Mining is actively developing a major open-pit gold mine, complete with an on-site processing plant and supporting infrastructure.
