AHAFresh Handling Ltd is a Tanzanian logistics company specializing in the handling of perishable goods, particularly for the horticulture industry. Established in 2008, it’s a subsidiary of the Tanzania Horticultural Association (TAHA), which is a key private sector organization that advocates for the growth of the country’s horticulture sector. TAHAFresh is known as Tanzania’s “sole farmer-owned logistics company.”

Strategic Vision and Projects

TAHAFresh is actively working on a significant expansion project to tap into the multi-billion-dollar fresh food supply chain business. This involves establishing state-of-the-art fresh produce terminals at key inland, airport, and port locations across Tanzania. The goal of these facilities is to serve as strategic consolidation centers for perishable cargo from Tanzania and six neighboring landlocked countries. This initiative is designed to position Tanzania as a regional gateway for the export of fresh produce, meat, and fish to global markets.

They’re also involved in the Farm to Market Efficiency Project, which is funded by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. As an implementing partner in this project, TAHAFresh is focused on upgrading facilities and integrating advanced post-harvest technologies to improve market access for farmers in the northern regions of Tanzania.
