Finance and Administration Manager

Nakangea Construction Limited, a fully zambian owned grade 1 construction company is looking for a Finance and Administration Manager who will be responsible for providing financial guidance and support to Management.  He/She will be responsible for the smooth and efficient functioning of the organization’s operational systems, ensuring that organizational processes are efficient and effective and guarantees proper management of overall finance and administration matters.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Monitor day to day financial operations of the company such payroll, submission and payment of statutory obligations, and other financial transactions;
  • Improve the financial and administrative process of the organisation in order to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and professionalism;
  • Cash flow management: Track the financial status and performance of the company to identify areas of potential improvement;
  • Carrying business modelling and risk assessments to aid with short and long term decision making;
  • Participation in the formation and implementation of financial plans of the organization.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risks;
  • Conduct business reviews and evaluations to advise on cost reduction opportunities;
  • Develop written accounting procedures for all staff and work with the various teams (site and head office) to ensure proper compliance.

Project Management:

  • Work with Project Engineer and Accountant to ensure proper compliance with accounting procedures including reviewing and analyzing job estimates and monthly reports from site;
  • Conduct regular site audits to support management of costs, audit of policies and procedural compliance, stock-taking and verifications wage bill records.

HR and Administration:

  • Ensure that all staff contracts are up to date and are labour compliant;
  • Track staff costs and ddvise on staff costs reductions techniques particularly for slow seasons;

Profile

Required Qualifications. Knowledge and Experience: 

  • At least a degree in CIMA, ACCA level 2 or similar;
  • At least 5 years’ practical experience in a similar position;
  • Must have considerable knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting functions;
  • Excellent knowledge of statutory accounting requirements;
  • Must be proficient in at least 2 or more accounting packages, excel and word applications;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels in the organization.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to delegate and supervise others;
  • Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines;
  • Must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.  He/she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks;
  • Ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members;
  • Willingness to share knowledge, experience, Ideas and expertise
