Job Opportunity: Accounts Payable Accountant
Towerco of Africa Tanzania Limited is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Accountant to join our finance team in Dar es Salaam. This role is key in managing vendor relationships, ensuring tax and regulatory compliance, and maintaining strong internal controls that align with company policies and financial standards.
Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates should meet the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Holder of a CPA(T) or equivalent qualification.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

Strong knowledge of tax laws and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities
The Accounts Payable Accountant will be responsible for:

Creating and maintaining accurate supplier sub-accounts in the accounting system.

Matching all supplier invoices against supporting documents and ensuring correct ledger recording.

Recognizing periodic costs and making necessary accruals.

Reconciling accounts payable-related balance sheet accounts and resolving variances in a timely manner.

Reviewing vendor ageing reports and recommending actions for long-outstanding balances.
