About the Role

The Agric Customer Relationship Officer is responsible for mobilizing clients, promoting agricultural loan products, forming and training solidarity groups/community banks, maintaining portfolio quality, and ensuring client retention and satisfaction. The role reports to the Agric Credit Supervisor/Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Quality

• Maintain portfolio quality >1 day of less than 5%.

• Keep PAR >30 days under 3%.

• Ensure loan loss rate <1%.

• Recover 50% of written-off loans.

Portfolio Growth & Disbursements

• Ensure timely, quality loan disbursements.

• Maintain portfolio within 30% of branch PV target.

• Analyze loan proposals and provide recommendations.

Customer Service

• Maintain retention rate >80%.

• Resolve client complaints to zero.

• Assist clients with loan applications, business plans, and mentoring.

• Promote credit services in the community.

• Ensure 7-day turnaround for loans.

Compliance & Client Protection

• Follow proper loan file documentation and monitoring.

• Train groups according to policy.

• Ensure clients are not over-indebted and are treated with respect.

• Maintain transparency in all dealings.

Other Competencies

• Strong agricultural extension and communication skills.

• Foster partnerships at branch level.

• Ability to respect denominational differences and participate in daily devotions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Business, Agribusiness, or related course.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a financial institution.

• Valid motorbike license with ≥6 months’ riding experience.

• Knowledgeable in Climate Smart Agriculture technologies.

• Commitment to organizational values and safeguarding protocols.
