Job Purpose
The Business Development Officer will support the Broking Manager in driving consistent sales growth across the broking channel. This role is crucial in strengthening broker relationships, achieving business retention and acquisition targets, and ensuring smooth operational coordination. The position reports to the Sales Manager – Broking.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the renewal process to achieve a 90% renewal rate

Develop account strategies to maximize potential with key brokers

Drive profitable business growth through retention and new business

Coordinate with underwriting and claims departments to ensure efficient service delivery

Follow up on outstanding premiums (IPF, bank credits, cancelled business)

Engage in data analysis and advise the manager on growth opportunities

Prepare accurate channel performance reports for business strategy meetings

Align business drivers to meet service level agreements (SLAs)

Deliver competitive and timely quotations to clients

Oversee tender documentation and submission processes

Manage assigned brokers to meet goals and objectives

Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Deliver on performance metrics as per department strategy map, balance scorecard, and personal scorecard

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (insurance specialization preferred)

Professional qualification in Insurance (e.g., CII Certificate or equivalent)

3–4 years’ sales experience (insurance sector preferred)

Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and concepts

Proven track record of managing relationships with banks and brokers
