About the Role

The Clean Cooking Regional Collections Manager is responsible for minimizing financial losses in Sun King’s Clean Cooking Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) business by managing, collecting, and recovering overdue payments. The role combines field-based debt collection, customer engagement, and asset recovery to ensure operational efficiency and financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Skip Tracing:

Locate debtors who are difficult to contact using last known address data.

Debt Collection:

Follow up with clients on overdue accounts.
Negotiate payment plans and ensure compliance.
Drive field collections and recovery campaigns.
Execute field collection strategies, including experiments to increase recoveries.

Asset Recovery:

Repossess LPG cylinders and equipment from non-paying customers as a last resort.
Implement collection and repossession approaches for different customer segments.
Collaborate with the sales team to optimize field collection structures.

Problem Solving:

Address and resolve debtor inquiries and complaints.
Identify customer pain points affecting collections and propose solutions.
Escalate fraudulent activities, customer issues, or difficult cases to the PAYG LPG Credit Manager.

Investigation & Reporting:

Investigate missing assets/components and document incidents.
Prepare reports on recovery efforts, strategies, and KPIs.
Implement continuous improvement in field collection processes.

Compliance:

Ensure all collections and recovery actions adhere to company policies and Tanzanian legal regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Credit Management, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in field-based debt collections, recoveries, credit risk management, or asset recovery. Experience in PAYG, microfinance, or asset leasing is an advantage.
Proven track record in driving field-based debt collection improvements.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Experience working in emerging markets, especially rural or peri-urban settings.
