CONSTRUCTION TECHNICIAN
Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Minimum of Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, or related from a recognized university.
- Full membership of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB).
- Proficiency in the complete Microsoft Office Suite of products.
- At least three (3) years post-qualification experience in building and civil engineering construction and maintenance related projects.
- Good understanding of environment, community, occupational health and safety statutory and regulatory requirements and procedures.
- Strong analytical skills using process approach and risk-based thinking.
- Knowledge of specifications applicable to the construction industry.
- Ability to manage people in a dynamic and uncertain environment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work under pressure and have good time management.
- Ability to balance the project’s competing demands (scope, time, cost, and quality) to meet or exceed stakeholders’ needs and expectations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in managing the project process effectively and efficiently by planning, leading, organizing, coordinating, and controlling.
- Comply with the Integrated Quality Management System (IQMS) requirements in all assigned responsibilities.
- Support, guide, and facilitate the project artisans through the project process.
- Effectively resolve issues and manage risks.
- Minimize organizational disruption during project execution.
- Report daily performance of assigned responsibilities to the Project Manager in accordance with the organization’s Integrated Quality Management System.
- Keep abreast of industry design standards, conditions of contracts, regulations, and statutory requirements to ensure compliance.
- Maintain an appropriate project environment necessary for the operation of the project process.
- Ensure interrelation with other departments of the organization.
