Role Overview
The Credit Manager will oversee the Credit Department, ensuring the quality of the loan portfolio, timely repayments, and alignment with the company’s strategic goals. The role includes monitoring, mentoring, and leading credit teams while ensuring compliance with lending policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Management & Oversight

Oversee microfinance lending processes to ensure quality and timely loan repayments.

Monitor and evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers.

Approve or reject loans based on data and microfinance policies.

Ensure compliance with all lending procedures and regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate records of disbursed, repaid, and overdue loans.
Team Leadership & Reporting

Supervise and monitor performance of Loan, Recovery, Risk, and Marketing Officers.

Review and ensure timely reporting of daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual credit operations.

Guide staff on effective implementation of duties and loan management processes.
Policy Development & Innovation

Develop, review, and improve microfinance credit policies and operational procedures.

Provide innovative recommendations for loan management, including technological enhancements.

Conduct loan restructuring assessments and negotiate repayment solutions with customers.
Business Development & Risk Mitigation

Optimize loan portfolio performance and minimize bad debts.

Support business development by aligning credit strategies with organizational goals.
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
Experience
-
Minimum of 2 years in a similar credit management role.
Skills & Competencies

Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Analytical and risk assessment skills.

Excellent reporting and communication skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Proficiency in monitoring loan performance and recovery processes.
