MSUFINI(T) LTD, a leading player in East Africa’s industrial chemicals sector, is establishing a 45 Metric Tons Per Day (MTPD) Chlor-Alkali Plant in Mlandizi, Tanzania. We are seeking highly qualified, strategic, and motivated professionals to join our growing team.

Position: Director of Human Resources & Legal Affairs

Location: Mlandizi, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full-time, Contractual
Reports to: Plant Director / Board of Directors

Role Overview

The Director of Human Resources & Legal Affairs will oversee all HR, legal, and corporate governance functions of the organization. This includes talent acquisition, staff development, compliance with Tanzanian labor laws, legal advisory, and company secretary duties. The role ensures alignment between HR policies, organizational strategy, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, retention, and development of talent across departments.

  • Provide legal counsel on corporate, labor, and operational matters.

  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and legal documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labor laws and HR best practices.

  • Support organizational change management and culture transformation initiatives.

  • Advise the Board of Directors and serve as company secretary.

  • Develop and implement HR policies, performance management systems, and employee engagement programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration & Law, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.

  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification is highly desirable.

  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in HR and legal management, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.

  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws and corporate governance.

  • Proven expertise in talent acquisition, HR policy development, and organizational change management.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
