Role: Employee Relations Associate

What is this role about?

The Employee Relations Associate will focus on fostering constructive and cooperative relationships between the company and its workforce, ensuring compliance with labor legislation, managing union interactions, and maintaining workplace policies.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate internal disciplinary hearings in line with company policies and procedures

  • Represent the company in labor court and provide effective defense

  • Assist in developing and maintaining Collective Bargaining Agreements with unions

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records (personal files & SAPHR)

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce industrial relations policies while advising line managers for consistency

  • Lead initiatives to design and implement employee engagement strategies to improve workplace culture

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

What are we looking for?

  • University degree in Law plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice or LL.M. (or equivalent)

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial relations

  • Proficiency in English and Swahili (written & spoken)

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

  • In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labor laws

  • Proven experience in facilitating disciplinary hearings, representing at the CMA, and handling Collective Bargaining Agreements
