Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern at Flexi-Personnel – July 2025

Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Intern

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environment Health and Safety (EHS) Intern to support the EHS function in fulfilling critical tasks related to EHS legal requirements and operational safety documentation. The internship provides a valuable learning opportunity for a recent graduate or entry-level professional seeking hands-on experience in environmental, health, and safety management.
  • The intern will assist in compiling regulatory submissions, managing documentation, tracking PPE inventory, and coordinating local EHS compliance activities. This role is particularly important in helping the team maintain compliance with evolving legal obligations related to chemical management, waste handling, and permit-to-work systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining regulatory compliance by compiling and submitting documentation for chemical registrations, waste reporting, and packaging permits.
  • Support the review and formatting of EHS documents including procedures, policies, and safe work permits to ensure they meet legal and internal standards.
  • Track PPE stock movement, coordinate dispatch logistics, and maintain accurate inventory records to support field safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with EHS and operations teams to prepare for statutory audits, inspections, and contractor briefings.
  • Conduct physical file checks and data entry to ensure EHS documentation (e.g., SDS, permits, inspection records) is current and complete.
  • Liaise internal teams to collect and update Safety Data Sheets and compliance certificates.
  • Participate in EHS site visits and assist in recording observations, corrective actions, and inspection follow-up.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for regulatory and operational records.
  • Monitor deadlines and proactively follow up to ensure timely submission of compliance reports.
  • Provide administrative support during audits, trainings, and regional EHS coordination efforts.
  • Provide occasional support to the Operational Quality team, specifically in the area of Quality Control (QC) release documentation and follow-up, during periods when the Quality representative is out of office. This will be limited in scope and will not affect the intern’s primary responsibilities within the EHS function.

General skills and competency

  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Detail-oriented and reliable.
  • Professional conduct and respect for confidentiality.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.

Experience:

  • Recent graduate or final-year student eligible for industrial attachment.
  • Strong interest in EHS compliance, sustainability, or regulatory affairs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
