About the Project
The Field Officer will work within the project “Boresha Majingira Tumia Jiko Banifu” – “Improve the Environment, Use Improved Cookstoves,” under the Green Tanzania Cookstove Programme. The project aims to:

Reduce reliance on traditional cooking methods in 30 villages of Kongwa District.

Distribute 26,000 improved cookstoves that lower firewood and charcoal consumption by up to 70%.

Mitigate deforestation, reduce carbon emissions, and improve respiratory health.

Promote environmental conservation and contribute to several SDGs including poverty reduction, health improvement, gender equality, and ecosystem protection.
Key Responsibilities

Support the Project Coordinator in project implementation at the local level.

Coordinate distribution of cookstoves and project materials.

Facilitate training, awareness campaigns, and sensitization activities within communities.

Conduct field visits to monitor project progress, assess impact, and identify areas for improvement.

Collect accurate data, prepare reports, and update information in relevant data systems.

Establish and maintain strong relationships with village representatives, authorities, and project partners.

Address field challenges and provide practical solutions to ensure project continuity.

Perform additional duties as required by the Project Coordinator or Project Assistant.
Qualifications & Requirements

At least one year of relevant professional experience as a Field Officer.

Proficiency in English and Kiswahili, including report writing.

Strong digital skills (smartphones, mobile apps, data collection tools).

Valid driving license for cars and motorcycles.

Tanzanian citizenship; candidates from Kongwa District or with local experience preferred.

Flexible attitude and adaptability to changing project needs.
Preferred:

Relevant courses/certificates in related fields.

Experience with international NGOs and donor-funded projects.
