Job Overview: Financial Accountant
Dangote Cement Tanzania is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to support the Finance Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly and year-end financial statements, managing audits, and ensuring efficient and controlled payment processes. The role also involves monitoring financial performance, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and maintaining a reliable financial reporting system.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate and timely monthly and year-end financial statements in line with group guidelines and international financial standards.

Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all activities are properly planned and executed.

Support external audits and ensure timely delivery of statutory financial statements.

Maintain accuracy and reliability of the general ledger, including reconciliation of intercompany balances.

Ensure proper accounting for provisions, accruals, and journal vouchers, ensuring timely approvals and bookings.

Support an effective and efficient payment process in coordination with internal stakeholders.

Maintain accurate fixed asset accounting, including timely capitalization, write-offs, and register updates.

Assist in balance sheet forecasting, medium-term planning, and cash flow projections.

Monitor and report on Finance Department Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Finance Controller or CFO.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.

Professional accountancy qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA).

Minimum 4 years of experience in finance and/or audit; external audit experience is an advantage.

Proficient in basic computer packages; familiarity with ERPs, particularly SAP, is preferred (training available).

Strong analytical, interpersonal, and business acumen skills.

Ability to work under pressure, learn quickly, and collaborate across departments.

Potential to progress into higher roles within the finance department or organization.
