GENERAL MANAGER

Rustiek Hotel, an elegant A-Frame retreat in Kasane, Botswana, is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team. With a focus on exceptional hospitality, the ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of expertise in hotel operations, guest satisfaction, financial performance, and brand excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management

  • Lead and inspire the hotel team, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Oversee all departments, including Front Office, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Maintenance, ensuring seamless operations.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and execute strategies to boost revenue, enhance guest satisfaction, and elevate the hotel’s brand reputation.
  • Stay informed on market trends and conduct competitive analysis.

Financial Management

  • Manage the hotel’s budget, including revenue forecasting, cost control, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Guest Relations

  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences through outstanding service and attention to detail.
  • Address guest feedback and complaints promptly and professionally.

Operational Efficiency

  • Implement and monitor policies to ensure efficient hotel operations.
  • Oversee inventory, maintenance, and other operational aspects.

Staff Management

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate staff, providing performance feedback and coaching.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and manage employee relations.

Sales and Marketing

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective sales and marketing strategies.
  • Manage online booking platforms and the hotel’s online reputation.

Brand Representation

  • Uphold and promote the hotel’s brand standards in cleanliness, quality, and service.
  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement strategies to enhance guest experience, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hotel management, with a strong background in hospitality, leadership, food & beverage, and business management.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, staff management, and operational efficiency.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
