As a self-driven Head Mechanic, who is passionate about teamwork, safety, efficiency, and quality of service, you will lead technical operations, diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and provide solutions to clients while upholding Kokeb’s values of integrity, innovation, and excellence.

What You’ll Do

Diagnostics and Technical Oversight
Conduct automotive diagnostic scans using tools (e.g. Bosch, Autel) and interpret error codes.
Perform visual, physical, test-drive inspections and troubleshoot faults.
Update equipment software and manage calibrations as needed.
Repair and Maintenance
Conduct job analysis and perform and oversee repair works.
Set workshop repair standards, develop maintenance checklists, and approve, guide, and verify the use of parts, tools, and torque specifications.
Maintain accurate repair and maintenance documentation.
Quality Control and Compliance Management
Perform quality checks and test-drive to ensure issue resolution and safety before effecting vehicle handover.
Sign-off repair and maintenance jobs and audit technician works for adherence to specifications, repair standards, maintenance checklists, and procedures.
Conduct spot checks for tool calibrations and compliance.
Performance Management
Lead technical troubleshooting discussions and assign daily tasks to team members.
Conduct weekly toolbox talks and safety meetings and maintain log of activities.
Motivate, counsel, and increase maintenance and repair knowledge among workshop team members.
Evaluate team performance and recommend capacity needs to management.
Environmental and Safety Compliance Management
Enforce use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), lockout, and safety standards.
Ensure proper disposal of materials and enforce company housekeeping standards.
Customer and Vendor Interaction
Explain technical issues clearly to facilitate customer decision making.
Recommend repair alternatives based on safety, cost, and longevity.
Handle customer complaints with respect and escalate to management if need be.

Who You Are

Qualifications: Diploma in Automotive Mechanics (Degree is a plus).
Experience: 4 years in a busy state-of-the-art workshop (repairing heavy and light-duty vehicles in a supervisory role).
Self‑Starter: Proactive, curious, self-driven, and ready to challenge norms.
Tech Savvy: Proficient with diagnostics software; eager to learn new tools.
Excellent Communicator: Ability to interact with customers and vendors; team-oriented.
Customer‑Centric: Understands the importance of client relationships and reliable delivery.
Certification (e.g., EIZ) is an advantage.
