- National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: AFSC 3F0X1 or 3F5X1 is preferred but not required. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. Enlisted service members up to MSgt/E7 are eligible to apply. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position with experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Specialized experience must be 1-year equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Specialized experience is experience that prepared the applicant to perform the duties of the position. The applicant’s educational-degree study program or military or civilian academic courses may substitute for some specialized experience. An applicant must demonstrate the specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, abilities and behaviors) to qualify for a position identified by its position grade and career level. Specialized experience may include human resources program’s business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force, or similar human resources experience.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training.
- Skill to research factual information regarding applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements that provide explanations of actions taken or recommended.
- Knowledge to maintain/review service records for accuracy.
- Knowledge to process orders that include preparation, publication, distribution and tracking of civilian and military travel orders, annual training, and special training.
- Skill in analyzing information, to determine its relevance, and to provide options to management/supervisors/military members regarding appropriate course of action.

Education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement
