Job Purpose

The Reconciliation Analyst will be responsible for reconciling Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Money Transfer Operators (MTOs) accounts, ensuring all exceptions requiring refunds are resolved promptly, and maintaining accurate transaction records.

Key Responsibilities

Reconciliation & Refunds

Perform daily reconciliation of mobile banking transactions and share reports with MNOs/MTOs as per SLAs.
Reconcile TIPS accounts and escalate issues to stakeholders for resolution.
Process refunds via the Reversal Portal/tool and prepare vouchers for reversals in line with SLAs.

Float & Airtime Management

Monitor MNO float accounts to ensure they remain within approved limits.
Prepare and process vouchers for float replenishments and airtime stock purchases.

Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement

Liaise with utility providers (TANESCO, ZECO, water authorities, etc.) for reconciliation confirmations.
Work with branches and relationship managers to resolve customer-related reconciliation issues.

Reporting & Analysis

Prepare daily reconciliation status reports and recommend actions for outstanding items.
Assist in preparing periodic RCC, KRI, and monthly reports.
Analyze mobile transaction trends to detect technical issues requiring escalation.

Compliance & Audit

Maintain custody of reconciliation records to ensure audit trails.
Respond to queries from Customer Service and internal teams within agreed turnaround times.

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of retail banking operations, risks, and controls related to mobile banking.
Proficient in MS Excel and other relevant computer applications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
Good time management, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
Strong interpersonal abilities.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounts, Finance, Banking, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in retail banking operations, with minimum 1 year in reconciliation duties.
