Inventory & Quality Control Officer -Tube Mill

Job Brief

The Inventory and Quality Control Officer will be responsible for managing and reporting on Tube Mill inventory, ensuring consistent product quality through thickness testing, and maintaining detailed records of materials and energy usage. The role involves daily monitoring, interval weighing, and audit stock takes to optimize production tracking and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Reporting:

  • Monitor and report coil stock levels daily.
  • Track ribbon stock movement and update records accordingly.
  • Compile and submit daily Tube Mill production data.
  • Record daily stock inflows (production) and outflows (sales).

Quality Control:

  • Conduct routine thickness testing on produced items to ensure specification compliance.
  • Ensure interval weighing of finished products during production shifts for accuracy.

Inventory Oversight:

  •  Oversee semi-monthly and monthly audit stock takes, reconciling physical and system records.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory logs for coils, ribbons, and produced stock.

Energy and Resource Monitoring:

  • Document monthly energy consumption readings related to Tube Mill operations.
  • Track and report on production consumables utilized each month,
  • Accuracy of stock reporting and audit findings.
  • Timeliness and reliability of daily and monthly reports.
  • Compliance rate in thickness testing and product standards.
  • Effective documentation of energy and consumable usage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a steel manufacturing set-up. Tube mill operations will be highly preferred.

Chief Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the company’s Fixed Asset Register by identifying, recording, accounting, reporting and timely capitalization of all assets.
  • Participate in the preparation of reports regarding internal and external audits.
  • Validation and verification of payments for accuracy and accountability
  • Filing statutory returns including Withholding VAT, VAT and PAYE, NSSF and NHIF.
  • Ensure that the accounting system is up-to-date with all transactions.
  • Ensure the bank reconciliations are finalized by set deadlines, signed and approved in a timely manner
  • Check the dispatch schedule for trucks with invoices generated to ensure procedural compliance

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K), with at least CPA Part III (Section 6 completed). Alternatively, ACCA, CIMA, or CA. ICPAK registration is mandatory if the candidate is practicing in Kenya
  • MBA will be an added advantage
  • 7–10 years of accounting experience with verifiable references in logistics, transport, or construction
  • At least 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Membership with ICPAK preferred
  • -Proficiency in ERP systems, especially QuickBooks.

Skills

  • Strong background in financial reporting, tax planning, audit liaison, and budget control.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and KRA regulations.
  • Familiarity with East African tax frameworks or regional accounting practices.
