MSUFINI (T) LTD is establishing a 45 Metric Tons Per Day (MTPD) Chlor-Alkali Plant in Mlandizi, Tanzania. As a major player in East Africa’s industrial chemicals sector, we are seeking highly skilled, motivated, and detail-oriented professionals to join our growing team.

We are currently recruiting a Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer to drive the design, installation, and operational readiness of mechanical systems in the facility.

Position: Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer

Duty Station: Mlandizi, Pwani Region, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports to: Project Manager / Engineering Lead

Role Overview

The Lead Mechanical Systems Engineer will oversee mechanical system design, construction management, and compliance with industry safety standards. This role is critical for ensuring the smooth delivery and operational efficiency of the chemical processing plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of mechanical systems, including piping, equipment, and HVAC systems.

  • Oversee installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and safety regulations (ASME, API, etc.).

  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and process engineering teams.

  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, progress reports, and operational manuals.

  • Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Proven experience in industrial facility construction, preferably chemical plants.

  • Strong knowledge of engineering codes and standards.

  • Proficiency in engineering software: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of safety procedures for handling hazardous materials.
