LOGISTICS OFFICER

The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. LOGISTICS OFFICER
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
To coordinate and execute logistics operations including transportation, shipment tracking, and documentation to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods, materials, and equipment required for mining operations, while ensuring compliance with safety, legal, and company standards.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- Coordinating inbound and outbound transportation of materials, spares and equipment.
- Liaising with suppliers, transporters, clearing agents and internal departments to arrange timely deliveries.
- Preparing and verifying shipping documentation, including delivery notes, waybills, and transport permits.
- Tracking shipments and updating stakeholders on progress, delays or disruptions.
- Maintaining records of logistics activities, freight costs and delivery schedules.
- Supporting customs clearance processes by providing accurate and complete shipping documents.
- Ensuring safe handling and transportation of goods, including hazardous materials.
- Assisting in planning and scheduling fleet and logistics support for mine site operations.
- Monitoring transporter performance and escalating delivery issues or damages.
- Supporting compliance with SHEQ standards and logistics best practices.
- Assisting in logistics audits, stock reconciliations, and vendor performance reviews.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or transport coordination
- Experience in mining or industrial logistics is an advantage
- Familiarity with customs procedures and freight management
- Certification in logistics or transport operations is an added advantage
- Training in SHEQ or Dangerous Goods Handling is desirabie
