LOGISTICS & WAREHOUSE OFFICER

Botswana’s mining sector celebrates a major milestone with the official opening of Tataki Mine, a new, strategically significant operation backed by NIU Invest. Positioned in one of the country’s key mineral belts, Tataki Mine is set to become a cornerstone of sustainable economic growth, job creation and local development. The mine is now actively recruiting to fill a wide range of vacancies; the recruitment drive aims to empower communities and stimulate long-term economic participation. The mine wishes to recruit consummate professionals, with solid experience, who are driven by a passion for excellence into the following positions:

Job Purpose:

Strategically manage fleet vehicles to ensure optimal availability, performance and compliance covering preventative care (scheduled servicing, inspections), corrective actions (repairs, incident response) and service maintenance tracking. This includes designating vehicles to specific operational departments based on mission scope, actively monitoring departmental utilization against key performance indicators and overseeing risk management protocols tied to mechanical reliability, regulatory standards and incident and accident mitigation. The role also entails developing and maintaining a fleet management tracker that visualises assignment, maintenance status, fuel and compliance metrics, enabling executive-level decision support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the receipt, storage, and issuing of mining materials and equipment in line with operational requirements.

  • Maintain accurate inventory and record-keeping, internal service level monitoring, documentation of procurement contracts, and stock reconciliations.

  • Liaise with procurement/finance regarding procurement cycles, order tracking and resolving supply chain queries on consumables.

  • Enforce compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental protocols as per legal and internal audit requirements.

  • Monitor supplier, contractor performance, reporting adverse trends and equipment failure to drive optimisation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • A minimum of two (2) years’ operational field experience in warehousing/logistics.

  • Experience within a mining or industrial environment will be an added advantage.

  • Knowledge of mining materials, components, and safety standards.

  • Proficiency in inventory systems (e.g., SAP, or similar) and MS Office.

  • Valid driver’s license and knowledge of HSE practices in mining logistics.
