MAINTENANCE MECHANICIAN/TECHNICIAN
Overall Purpose of the Role
Install, maintain, improve and repair equipment, plant, services and building installations to set levels effectively in compliance with best practices ensuring production efficiency and meeting customer requirements within a safe well-presented facility.
Key Responsibilities
- General and Task Management
- Attend breakdowns, identify fault and problem solve with minimal downtime to production
- Carry out diagnosis and execute the maintenance and repairs to all equipment in line with company and legislative requirements
- Ensure that equipment is returned to production in a safe and serviceable condition
- Estimate length of time required to complete a job and likely consequences of failure to complete work within required timescales
- Identify and escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm or damage
- Ensure all work is carried out to a high-quality standard and in a safe manner and comply with all quality and safety rules and procedures
- Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time
- Ensure all lost time, minor and all accidents are reported
- Ensure all work is undertaken to a high standard and complies with all company and legislative requirements
- Assist with the moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment
- Plan and prioritise workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time

- Respond to technical issues affecting production and maintain electrical and mechanical services through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends regarding maintenance
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum NCC with Mechanical Trade Test Certificate and/or minimum 5 years’ experience working in Mechanical environment (whole manufacturing environment, preferably auto)
- Experience in working on computerised maintenance management systems
- Practical hands-on approach to problem solving
- Mechanical, electrical, electronic or software background
- Experience of working with and understanding the impact of failure with hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Operator Forklift Truck licence preferred
- Experience in welding, including painting and spray painting will be an added advantage
