Job Title: Manager – Financial Controls
The key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to the following:
- Oversee Balance Sheet Reconciliations – Ensure monthly reconciliations are accurate, consistent, and discrepancies are resolved within 30 days.
- Lead Internal and External Audits – Coordinate audit processes, ensuring findings are addressed and audits are concluded successfully.
- Maintain Financial Policies – Develop, update, and operationalize finance policies including Accounting, Treasury, Tax, and Credit.
- Ensure Compliance – Monitor adherence to IFRS, IAS, ZRA, ZICTA, and MTN Group policies.
- Manage Financial Risk Controls – Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to maintain and update the Finance Risk & Control Matrix (RACMs).
- Review Financial Reports – Analyze and validate income statements, balance sheet schedules, and key performance metrics.
- Support Strategic Decision-Making – Provide insights from financial data to enhance operational efficiency and support business planning.
- Optimize Financial Systems – Oversee ERP and database systems to ensure effective period-end processes and data integrity.
- Evaluate Contracts and Agreements – Review financial implications of co-location, interconnect, roaming, and VAS agreements.
- Mentor and Lead a Team – Develop and manage a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Candidate Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 credit or better of which English and Mathematics are a must.
- 4-year degree in business – accountancy or related field.
- ACCA/CIMA.
- Three (3) years’ inventory/revenue management experience in an FMCG environment.
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
