MATERIALS ENGINEER

Main Duty

• Ensure the quality and appropriateness of materials used in construction projects align with set standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct tests on materials to confirm they meet project specifications and standards.

• Maintain detailed records of material tests, approvals, and any corrective actions.

• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders for smooth project execution.

• Assess and select suitable materials for road construction based on their properties, cost, and project requirements.

• Identify and resolve material-related issues (e.g., defects or non-compliance); recommend corrective action.

• Provide technical support and guidance throughout the construction process for effective material usage.

• Perform any other reasonably assigned duties as required for service needs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

• Valid ERB practicing certificate

• Valid Class B driver’s license

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in bituminous paved roadways and road works construction
