MEDICAL OFFICER
Main Purpose
Provide advanced emergency medical care, supervise the EMS team, ensure smooth clinical operations, coordinate emergency responses, manage air medical evacuations, and supervise occupational health services. Additionally, contribute to business development by improving clinical protocols.
Key Performance Areas

Emergency Response & Patient Care: Deliver advanced pre-hospital medical care, triage, stabilization, and treatment of patients during emergency situations.

Medical Supervision: Lead and mentor emergency medical technicians (EMTs) to ensure top-quality patient care and efficient emergency operations.

Flight Medical Services: Participate in air medical evacuations, providing in-flight medical care to critically ill patients.

Occupational Health Services: Conduct health evaluations, develop workplace health programs, and ensure safety regulations compliance.

Business Development: Collaborate with senior leadership to enhance clinical protocols and identify growth opportunities.

Training & Development: Organize and lead training programs to ensure EMS staff follow the latest medical guidelines and procedures.
Minimum Education or Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery (MBChB, MBBS).

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a clinical environment, including accident & emergency experience and/or pre-hospital care.

Valid registration with Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC).

Postgraduate training in Occupational Health is advantageous.

Knowledge of ATLS, ACLS, AHCP, and PALS is an added advantage.
