METALLURGIST

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Metallurgist is responsible for supporting the metallurgical operations, process control, and optimization.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:

Metallurgical testing, sampling, and analysis.

Preparing and submitting daily, weekly, and monthly metallurgical accounting reports.

Developing, coordinating and supporting the metallurgical and assay information management systems.

Monitoring and optimizing the performance of reagents and plant processes.

Compiling, analysing and interpreting process, assay and plant performance data.

Scheduling audits of the process plant and process control systems.

Developing and analysing key metallurgical performance indicators and implementing corrective measures when necessary.

Ensuring quality assurance and control for crushing, milling and flotation metallurgy parameters to meet targeted recovery rates.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Minerals Processing or equivalent.

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Experience in a mechanized underground mine is an added advantage.

Advanced computer skills in metallurgical process information management and metallurgical process control systems.
