Its Head Office is located in the Lusaka’s Light Industrial Area along Nampundwe Road, Off Mumbwa Road. In its quest to maintain quality service delivery, the company seeks to recruit qualified highly motivated and goal-oriented professionals to fill the following positions.

1. Job Title: Manager – Occupational Health and Safety (1 position)

Job Overview 

The Manager – Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs to protect the health and safety of employees, contractors, and visitors within the steel manufacturing environment. The position ensures compliance with all applicable local, national, and international occupational safety regulations and promotes a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and regularly update the OHS Management System in accordance with national laws (e.g., Zambia Occupational Health & Safety Act), international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, OSHAS), and industry best practices.
  • Lead the integration of safety objectives into plant operations and business planning.
  • Identify and assess workplace hazards including thermal exposure, mechanical hazards, confined spaces, working at height, and heavy mobile machinery risks.
  • Conduct routine safety risk assessments and audits of operational units, especially high-risk areas like blast furnaces, rolling mills, cranes, and melting shops.
  • Ensure compliance with Zambian laws, Factory Act, Workers Compensation Act, and all relevant OHS statutes
  • Lead internal and external audits, inspections, and ensure timely resolution of non-conformities.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation including MSDS, risk registers, and incident reports.
  • Evaluate training needs and lead the design and delivery of tailored safety training programs, including PPE usage, fire safety, emergency drills, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Train frontline supervisors, safety officers, and plant workers on operational safety protocols and hazard identification techniques.
  • Lead incident investigations using root cause analysis techniques and develop corrective/preventive actions.
  • Develop and test emergency response and crisis management plans for scenarios such as explosions, fires, gas leaks, and molten metal spills
  • Coordinate with medical and fire response teams and act as the primary liaison during emergencies
  • Promote and lead continuous improvement initiatives such as behaviour-based safety (BBS) programs, 5S, and Kaizen as part of OHS improvement strategies
  • Develop safety KPIs, dashboards, and regular reports for senior management and board reviews

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Management, or a related field;
  • Certification in OHS standards (e.g., ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH, OSHA) is an added advantage;
  • Minimum of 10 years of practical OHS experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity in the steel manufacturing or heavy industrial sector;
  • Strong knowledge of safety management systems in steel or heavy manufacturing industries;
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills;
  • Proficiency in safety data analysis, report writing, and presentation;
  • High familiarity with industrial process hazards, mechanical safety, lifting equipment, and energy isolation systems;
  • Strong problem-solving and crisis response capabilities.

2. Job Title: PET Machine Operator (5 positions)

Job Overview

To supervise and manage daily production activities at the PET plant, ensuring operational efficiency, product quality, and team performance across all shifts. The supervisor must have prior hands-on experience as an operator and be capable of independently operating all key machinery in the PET plant, including extruders, thermoformers, and crushers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Independently operate and oversee all core machinery in the PET plant including: Extruder Machines, Thermoterming Machines, HIPS/PET Crushers
  • Utilize personal operational experience to: Set and optimize machine parameters (temperature, RPM, pressure, sheet thickness, forming cycles)
  • Supervise and control shift-wise production activities to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets.
  • Continuously monitor process parameters to ensure stable, high-quality production with minimal waste.
  • Conduct first-level maintenance and technical troubleshooting to reduce machine downtime.
  • Lead and manage the shift production team including operators, helpers, and material handlers.
  • Allocate daily tasks and ensure adherence to shift plans and production schedules.
  • Uphold discipline, hygiene, and safety standards across the production floor.
  • Deliver hands-on on-the-job training to develop operator capabilities and reinforce operational best practices.
  • Coordinate timely execution of production as per daily and weekly targets.
  • Monitor raw material (PET, HIPS) consumption and availability; coordinate with stores or procurement to avoid shortages.
  • Maintain accurate shift-wise logs, downtime records, and machine performance data.
  • Analyze output, identify rejection and wastage trends, and implement corrective actions for reduction.

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

  • Diploma / DAE/ Technical Certificate in Mechanical / Plastics / Manufacturing Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in operating and supervising plastic sheet extrusion and thermoforming machines (PET & HIPS material experience preferred).
  • Sound understanding of machine operation, basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting.
  • Strong leadership and team handling skills with good communication ability.
  • Familiar with production documentation and safety protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with all extrusion, thermoforming equipment.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
  • Decision-making under pressure

3. Job Title: Fitter (5 positions)

Job Overview

Carrying out workshop and site fitting  jobs for TRADEKINGS GROUP of companies

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing fitting jobs in line with HSE requirements
  • Keeping records of all fitting jobs performed in the workshop and on site
  • Spearheading housekeeping
  • Participating in HSE activities

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

  • Craft certificate in Fitting
  • 3 years minimum experience in Fitting.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good technical drawing skills
  • Good pump maintenance skills
  • Good knowledge of handling equipment like pallet trucks and jacks
  • Good drilling machine operation skills
  • Good ability to repair gearboxes

4. Job Title : Operations Officer (5 positions)

Job Overview

The Operations Officer, will oversee the day-to-day operations of the factory. Responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the factory, as well as coordinating with various departments to achieve business objectives. That is coordinating production schedules, managing inventory, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Factory Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the factory, ensuring that production targets are met and that all operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Production Planning: Coordinate with the production planning team to ensure that production schedules are met and that all necessary resources are available to meet customer demand and production targets.
  • Supervise Staff: Supervise and train production staff to ensure they are working efficiently and safely.
  • Quality Control: Work with the quality control team to ensure that all products meet quality standards and that any quality issues are addressed promptly. Monitor and report on production performance, including efficiency, and safety metrics.
  • Communication and Coordination: Coordinate with various departments, including production, maintenance, and quality control, to ensure that all operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve operational problems, including equipment issues, staffing shortages, and supply chain disruptions.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports on factory operations, including production metrics, quality control data, and safety performance.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations, including ISO 9001 and OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments, including maintenance, quality, and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management or related field.
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a factory operations or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of factory operations and management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

5. Machinist (2 positions)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing machining jobs in line with HSE requirements
  • Carrying out workshop equipment maintenance
  • Spearheading housekeeping
  • Participating in HSE activities

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

  • Craft certificate in Machining
  • 3 years minimum experience in Machine shop management
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Good technical drawing, lathe operation skills
  • Good milling machine operation and drilling machine operation skills
  • Good ability to make own tools

6.  Mechanical Fitter (7 positions)

Job Overview

Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and machinery in the manufacturing facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the any repair and Maintenance in the shift
  • Up-keeping of the standby equipment.
  • Preventive and annual maintenance planning and ensuring all activities are carried out on time.
  • Responsible for the 5 S, Top5, Top15 and Top 60 targets.

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Skills

  • Mechanical Diploma or  relevant qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years’ experience in the Food or related Industries
  • Through knowledge of maintenance and hands on experience of repair of each equipment’s, pumps, blowers, compressor, Gearbox, Mechanical etc.
