PLANT OPERATOR
Applications are invited from suitably qualified citizens of Botswana for the above mentioned post tenable in Moshupa District Council.
Qualification:
Plant Operator’s License and must be able to operate two machines of construction
Requirements:
Direct entry to this grade will be limited to candidates with Grader and Bull Dozer machine certificates plus three years’ experience.
For promotion to this grade, candidates must have completed at least two (2) years satisfactory service as Plant Assistant (B5) or equivalent and must have successfully completed a Plant Operator II course.
Benefits
Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme:
Government pays 80% and employee pays 20% for standard benefit option OR Government pays 50% and employee 50% for High/Premier benefits respectively.
Contributory Pension Fund: Government pays 15% and employee 5%.
DUTIES
-
Carries out routine maintenance and report identifiable faults.

Maintains logbook by properly entering all details required.

Performs excavating works, cutting, bush clearing, grading, rolling, spreading, compacting, etc. using appropriate machines/plant.

Ensures safety of all tools and accessories issued.

Carries out wheel puncture repairs.

Guides and supervises subordinates.

Assists in fitting plant accessories.

Loads and offloads plants and/or machinery with due diligence and care.

Undertakes any related duties as directed by management.
