About the Role
Coop Bank is seeking a highly skilled Procurement & Facilities Officer to oversee end-to-end procurement operations, vendor management, and facilities support. The role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, transparency in tendering, and alignment with the Bank’s strategic objectives. The officer will contribute to cost optimization, digitalization of procurement processes, and overall operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning & Sourcing

Develop and implement annual procurement plans.

Conduct market research and identify reliable suppliers.

Prepare RFPs, tender documents, and manage bid evaluations.
Contract & Vendor Management
-
Negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Monitor and evaluate vendor performance.

Maintain an updated database of approved suppliers.
Compliance & Governance
-
Ensure adherence to the Bank’s Procurement Policy, Bank of Tanzania guidelines, and Public Procurement Act.

Prepare periodic reports for management, audit, and regulators.

Guarantee fairness and transparency in procurement processes.
Operational Support

Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders within approved budgets.

Provide procurement and facilities support to departments and branches.

Mentor and guide junior procurement staff.
Strategic Contribution

Drive cost-saving initiatives through effective negotiations.

Support automation and digitalization of procurement processes.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supplies Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.

Professional certification (e.g., CPSP, CIPS) preferred.

At least 5 years’ experience in procurement, ideally in the banking/financial sector.

Solid knowledge of Tanzanian procurement laws and regulatory requirements.

Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.

Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership potential.

High ethical standards, integrity, and ability to perform under pressure.

Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/procurement systems.
