Purpose of the Role

The Procurement Officer – Specialist is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services, ensuring policy compliance, negotiating contracts, and maximizing cost-efficiency. The role collaborates with departments to manage procurement needs, maintain supplier relationships, and drive cost-saving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Conduct supplier research, evaluation, and selection for high-quality goods and services.
Negotiate and manage contracts to ensure compliance and favorable terms.
Track and manage procurement budgets and expenditures.
Analyse purchasing trends to identify cost-saving and process improvement opportunities.
Ensure adherence to procurement policies, laws, and regulations.
Prepare regular procurement reports for the CFO and senior management.
Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Maintain an updated vendors list at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supply, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Procurement Officer, Specialist, or similar role.
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
Knowledge of procurement and supply chain principles.
Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software is an advantage.
High integrity, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
