Position: Procurement Specialist (1 Position)
Job Location: Head Office, Dar es Salaam
Job Purpose
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing procurement requirements within the bank, including expert opinions on sourcing, risk management, cost-saving strategies, contract management, supplier relationship management, and supporting project implementation activities.
Main Responsibilities

Process procurement requisitions and orders promptly in line with SLAs.

Invite, evaluate, and recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals.

Negotiate contract terms and conditions while maintaining good supplier relationships.

Prepare and maintain all procurement records, and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for auditing.

Develop cost-effective models and strategies to achieve savings.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to align procurement needs with the annual procurement plan.

Assist in drafting specifications for equipment, materials, and services.

Ensure timely renewal of contracts and oversee performance, including warranties, damages, and insurance.

Guarantee compliance with NMB’s procurement policies, governance standards, and best practices.

Manage procurement operations in the absence of line managers.

Provide timely feedback and guidance to users on procurement progress.

Draft Management Tender Reports for review by the line manager.

Implement branch support initiatives where relevant.
Knowledge and Skills

Strong understanding of procurement, supply chain, and business profitability.

Computer literacy and strong negotiation skills.

Familiarity with procurement regulations, Public Procurement Act, and NMB Procurement guidelines.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.

Strong integrity, planning, organizing, and ethical judgment.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related fields.

Registered with PSPTB at Graduate Level.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in procurement and contract management.
