Quality Control Supervisor x2

PURPOSE

This exciting opportunity exists at Fraser Alexander Zambia to proactively inspect construction activities and ensure conformance and compliance with the Quality Control (QC) plan.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operate Site (Construction)

Develop and implement a quality control plan for paddock filling based on compaction and cyclone performance, including optimum underflow/overflow rates, flow pressure, slurry solid rate, and density.

Work closely with the laboratory team to establish inspection protocols and analyse reports.

Perform daily quality inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with the QC plan.

Submit quality information in daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports.

Review blueprints and specifications to compare them with the produced goods.

Record inspection results by completing reports, summarising rework and waste, and inputting data into the quality database.

Oversee the work of contractors and site teams involved in earthworks, ensuring compliance with project specifications and procedures.

Implement and maintain quality control procedures for earthworks, including excavation, compaction, and site preparation.

Conduct regular inspections and tests of earthwork operations to verify compliance with quality standards, specifications, and safety regulations.

 

Maintain Safety

Ensure that projects and operations comply with business and client SHEQ systems, as well as legal requirements.

Ensure proper housekeeping and provide appropriate PPE.

Take corrective measures against all substandard acts and conditions.

 

Supervise Staff

Communicate performance standards to your subordinates.

Track and improve performance against targets.

 

Marketing and Client Relationship Management (CRM)

Build and promote good relationships with client representatives.

Attend all client meetings as requested or instructed by the Site Manager.

Understand and keep track of client needs.

 

Financial and Cost Control

Report availability and utilisation of people and machinery (Including mobile plant).

Maintain a record of material and equipment issuance and maintain proof of the same.

Control and maintain overtime within the requirements and roster.

QUALIFICATIONS

Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate

Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotech, Metallurgy, or equivalent

Registered member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)

 

EXPERIENCE

At least 3 years of Supervisory experience.

Strong understanding of earthworks operations, including excavation, compaction, and site preparation techniques.

Ability to interpret survey data and ensure accuracy of earthwork levels.

 

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

English proficiency.

Must have an advanced understanding of decision-making, quality, and problem-solving.

Must have an advanced understanding of collaboration.

Must have a good understanding of functional and technical skills.
