Job Description
Coop Bank is seeking a Relationship Manager – Trade Finance to manage and grow the Bank’s trade finance portfolio. The role involves engaging with corporate and SME clients, delivering tailored trade solutions such as Letters of Credit, Guarantees, and Bills for Collection, while ensuring compliance, risk management, and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management

Develop and manage a portfolio of trade finance clients.

Serve as the primary point of contact for trade finance matters.

Build long-term client relationships to drive sustainable business growth.
Business Development

Identify and pursue new trade finance opportunities across sectors (import/export, manufacturing, construction, etc.).

Cross-sell related banking products to increase client value.

Support corporate and branch teams in identifying trade finance needs.
Trade Product Management

Structure and provide trade finance solutions: Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Documentary Collections, Trade Loans, etc.

Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of transactions.

Collaborate with Operations and Risk teams to maintain compliance with policies and international regulations.
Risk and Compliance

Monitor credit, operational, and market risks associated with transactions.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and AML requirements.

Participate in regular reviews and monitoring of client accounts and trade lines.
Reporting and Analysis

Maintain records of client interactions, deals, and performance metrics.

Prepare and submit reports on trade finance performance, pipeline, and risk exposure.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Economics, International Trade, or related field.

Professional certifications in Trade Finance (CDCS, CITF) are an added advantage.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Trade Finance, Corporate Banking, or Relationship Management.

Strong knowledge of trade finance products, international practices, and risk frameworks.

Strong relationship management and business development skills.

Understanding of Guarantees and Letters of Credit (LCs).
