Role Overview

The Senior Accountant will oversee the company’s financial health and sustainability by ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial insights. The role also involves supervising the finance team, optimizing financial processes, and supporting decision-making for business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare and consolidate financial reports for all company divisions.

• Analyze financial performance and report variances to management.

• Monitor expenditures and revenues against budgets, recommending corrective actions.

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.

Cash Flow & Systems Management

• Manage cash flow plans, source funds, and oversee loans and overdrafts.

• Lead the transition to and maintenance of computerized accounting systems (SAP and manual).

• Ensure adherence to internal financial control procedures and mitigate risks.

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with tax and statutory requirements.

• Support internal and external audits.

Team Supervision & Leadership

• Supervise accounting staff, oversee payroll, and authorize payments.

• Facilitate training and capacity-building within the finance department.

Strategic Advisory

• Advise the Managing Director and Director – Accounts Operations on financial matters.

• Review existing accounting processes and recommend improvements.

• Oversee banking operations and importation procedures.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior role.

• Experience with accounting software (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
