SENIOR LECTURER
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Lecturer provides quality academic instruction, leadership, and scholarly engagement within Kanye SDA College of Nursing. This role involves community and social responsibility, delivering advanced lectures, leading curriculum development, mentoring junior academic staff, and promoting a culture of research and academic excellence. The Senior Lecturer also plays a key role in guiding both faculty and students in research activities, clinical practice, and administrative functions that support the College’s mission and strategic objectives.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
- A Master’s degree in any field of Nursing is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in Midwifery or Midwifery Education.
- Possession of a Ph.D. in a relevant field will be considered an added advantage.
Desired:
- Experience in curriculum development, teaching, and evaluation.
- Background in project and proposal writing.
- Evidence of clinical expertise and research experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
- Previous experience as a Lecturer I.
Duties
- Maintain course records and contribute to the compilation of annual reports.
- Support institutional management and administration by serving on boards, working parties, and committees.
- Supervise students in academic, research, and clinical activities and evaluation.
- Provide academic guidance and support to students, including strategies, design, and selection of relevant reference and instructional materials.
- Provide academic guidance and support for struggling learners.
- Design, set, and moderate assessment tools.
- Provide academic guidance and support to committees and working groups.
- Conduct and publish scholarly research to support institutional objectives.
