Job Purpose
The Business Development Officer will drive revenue growth and customer acquisition for the Medical Unit, supporting the Medical Manager in executing the medical sales strategy. The role is critical in meeting annual premium targets and strengthening relationships with brokers, clients, and intermediaries.
Key Responsibilities

Ensure renewal processes achieve a 90% retention rate

Develop and implement account strategies with key brokers

Drive profitable business growth through new and retained business

Maintain strong collaboration with underwriting and claims departments for efficient service delivery

Monitor and follow up on outstanding premiums via IPF, bank credits, and cancelled business

Engage in data analysis to guide channel growth and strategy development

Prepare competitive quotations and ensure timely delivery to clients

Oversee tender processing and ensure documentation is complete

Manage intermediaries to achieve set business goals

Prepare accurate performance reports for strategy meetings

Align business drivers to meet service level agreements (SLAs)

Lead initiatives that improve client experience and engagement

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field (insurance specialization preferred)

Professional qualification in Insurance (e.g., CII Certificate or equivalent)

3–4 years’ sales experience (insurance sector preferred)

Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and concepts

Proven record of managing bank relationships for business growth
