COMMERCIAL FARM MANAGER
P.S.G Agri-Co (Pty) Ltd is engaged in Agriculture, with farms specialising in both crop production and animal husbandry. The company urgently requires the services of the following personnel for their Dryland Crop Production farm at Mososedi.
COMMERCIAL FARM MANAGER – DRYLAND CROP PRODUCTION
MAIN DUTY: To oversee and manage all aspects of dryland crop production on a commercial farm, ensuring optimal yield, sustainable practices, and profitability. The role requires
strategic planning, operational oversight, and leadership in a semi-arid farming environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and implement seasonal crop schedules for sorghum, maize, sunflower, groundnuts,and sugar beans amongst others.
* Monitor soil health and recommend appropriate fertilization and conservation methods.
* Supervise planting, weeding, pest control, and harvesting activities
* Manage farm machinery and equipment maintenance
* Coordinate logistics for input procurement and crop marketing
* Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations
* Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
* Monitor input costs and optimize resource allocation.
* Negotiate with suppliers, buyers, and financial institutions
* Integrate climate-smart agriculture and conservation techniques
* Explore precision farming tools and data-driven decision-making
* Collaborate with agricultural extension services and researchers
* Train and supervise farm workers, promoting adherence to operational standards and fostering a culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience
* A minimum of National Diploma in Agriculture, Crop Science & Production, Agronomy or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years in commercial farm management, preferably in dryland crop production.
