DATA CENTRE INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNICIAN
Reporting to the Data Centre Facilities Manager, the incumbent will be required to conduct routine mechanical/electrical systems inspections, tests and maintenance, handle repair requests, troubleshoot issues, support emergency repairs, and assist vendors with equipment setup and client solutions deployments while maintaining Data Centre integrity.
Key performance areas

Perform routine inspection of data centre equipment and systems.

Perform maintenance related repairs, in accordance with the Data Centre maintenance programs and procedures.

Conduct equipment and systems isolations in preparation for maintenance or in response to incidents.

Always accompany third party vendors while conducting repairs and maintenance.

Timely resolve work orders and calls in accordance with the Data Centre incident management plans.

Strictly adhere to Data Centre Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Operating procedures, and Change Control procedures.

Regular testing of components and system as required.

Conduct installations during deployment of client solutions.

Basic understanding of the importance of emergency operating procedures and escalation procedures.

Aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
Academic qualifications & Experience
-
Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Diploma.
-
3 years technical knowledge and experience of Electrical/Mechanical equipment and systems in mission critical environments or similar.

Valid driver’s license.
-
Knowledge of Uptime, ASHRAE, ANSI/TIA 942 will be an added advantage.
