Job Overview: Field Sales Supervisor
Smollan Tanzania is seeking a dynamic Field Sales Supervisor to oversee sales operations, manage field sales representatives (FSRs), and achieve set sales targets within a designated territory. The role involves supervising sales staff, ensuring maximum product availability, optimizing operational processes, and maintaining strong distributor and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Achievement

Lead all sales activities to meet or exceed revenue targets.

Break down daily and weekly sales targets and communicate them effectively to the team.

Continuously monitor and evaluate performance against sales objectives.

Optimize resources and processes to achieve sales results efficiently.

Execute route-to-market retail programs and create demand for products.
-
Monitor FSR performance, providing guidance and corrective actions when needed.
Account Management & Client Relations

Work closely with distributors and partners to meet and exceed sales growth targets.

Ensure accurate control of sales targets and promptly resolve customer queries.
-
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.

Maintain and review Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with clients quarterly to identify growth opportunities.
Operational Excellence

Document and manage expenditures while ensuring effective use of Smollan assets, including HHT devices.

Implement and maintain standard operating procedures, policies, and compliance with regulations.

Maintain accurate customer and distributor databases.
-
Submit timely daily, weekly, and quarterly performance reports to Field Sales Manager.

Coordinate with the KD customer service team to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of orders.
People Management

Communicate team goals in line with company objectives and monitor performance.

Manage, motivate, and train FSR teams, providing feedback and addressing performance issues.

Identify training needs and coordinate with HR or L&D departments.

Conduct weekly team meetings and maintain regular communication across levels.

Ensure adherence to company disciplinary codes and grievance procedures.
Team & Self-Management

Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all field activities.

Supervise FSR call cycles and maintain manning principles.

Maintain high personal productivity and quality standards while adapting to organizational needs.

Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and ability to manage change effectively.
Qualifications & Experience

Degree, Higher or Basic Diploma in Sales, Marketing, or related field.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the FMCG industry as a senior sales representative.
