LECTURER

JOB SUMMARY

The Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, assessing student performance, contributing to curriculum development and participating in clinical teaching. The role also involves mentoring assistant lecturers and students, fostering academic excellence, and supporting their professional development in both classroom and clinical settings as well as community and social responsibility.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with a Master’s Degree (or enrolled in a Master Program).
• Registered Nurse with current license.
• At least 2–3 years’ teaching or clinical experience in nursing.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical supervision skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares and delivers lectures and tutorials.
• Assists in developing and updating course materials.
• Focuses mainly on undergraduate teaching.
• Assess student performance through setting of tests, exams, assignments and projects.
• Participate in curriculum development and review.
• Supervise student research and clinical placements.
• Monitor student progress.
• Participates in moderation and invigilation.
• Engage in academic advising and student support activities.
• Undertake professional development and scholarly research.
• Encouraged to publish in academic journals, though not always mandatory.
• Stay up to date on current trends and development.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities and orientation of new students.
• Undertake additional duties as required by the institution.
