Job Overview

Kafika House is seeking a motivated, self-driven, and compassionate Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join the Patient Care Team. The role focuses on therapeutic care for children with disabilities, both pre- and post-operatively, supporting independence in daily living activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and lead daily pediatric group therapy sessions.

  • Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized care plans.

  • Document patient progress in paper and electronic medical records.

  • Participate in daily and weekly ward rounds, updating care plans as needed.

  • Provide holistic, patient-centered care and advocate for patients.

  • Support partner hospital clinics and screenings, assisting in care coordination.

  • Participate in continuing professional development and educational programs.

  • Assist in specialized clinics (e.g., clubfoot, wound care, therapeutic activity center).

  • Supervise therapy assistants, students, and interdisciplinary interns.

  • Engage in community activities including patient screening, advocacy, and disability awareness.

  • Promote a caring environment that fosters healing, rehabilitation, and inclusion.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.

  • Registration with a relevant professional body in Tanzania.

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in pediatric occupational therapy or physiotherapy (NGO or rehabilitation center experience is an advantage).

  • Knowledge of the Ponseti method is an added advantage.

  • Strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills.

  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to changing environments.

  • Proficient in documentation and care plan development.
