Safety & Security Coordinator

Farmer Feeds (Pty) Ltd has a vacancy for fully qualified and experienced Safety and Security Coordinator at its Feed Mill, Nutri Feeds Botswana in Pilane.

Key responsibilities will include:

• • • Overseeing the implementation of security standards and procedures and ensure that adequate security records are maintained of all the Security Contractor at all times, i.e. Occurrence Book, Visitors Register, Vehicle Log Book, After Hours Log Book, various Weighbridge Registers, Key Register, Key Issue Register, Gate Passes, Lock-up register, Seal Register, Security Patrol Checklist, Investigations Reports, etc
    • Monitoring the Security Officers’ discipline/ensure they comply to set standards/procedures and report any unbecoming behaviour on their part to Management.
    • Monitoring the attendance of Security Personnel and ensure that adequate number of security staff is deployed to the plant.
    • To monitor, on daily basis, the premises and report on theft, misuse of asserts, water, power and other utilities and any other security breaches with the aid of the cameras
    • Conduct regular safety and security audits to identify potential hazards or vulnerabilities and create action plans to address them.
    • Be responsible for monitoring incoming and outgoing raw material trucks, obtaining screen shots and maintain the files. Escalate any abnormalities to the relevant management.
    • Coordinate with the suppliers and transporters of raw material and determine the afterhours off load plan, get appropriate approval and communicate to the respective staff members.
    • Monitor and control waste and scrap item disposals.
    • Ensuring the Administration premises are left in a secure state every afternoon (check if all windows are closed and the doors are locked as well as the alarm being set).
    • Download patrol reports daily, and exceptions be emailed to the relevant management.
    • Monitor security systems, including access control, surveillance cameras, and alarms, and promptly respond to any identified issues or alarms.
    • Visiting the Depot daily to ensure that the security procedures are observed to the latter and that cameras are fully functional.
    • Enforce all relevant security policies including but not limited to the vehicle checking policy, gate pass policy, individual and vehicle search policy, etc, of Nutri Feeds.

To qualify for the position, candidates will require the following:

• A Diploma in Security Management or relevant qualification
• At least three (3) years relevant post qualification experience in a security environment.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervising and directing people and other resources.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal safety and security regulations.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong physical fitness and the ability to respond to emergency situations, if required.
