SALES ENGINEER

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Managing Director – Mato Products the incumbent will be responsible to achieve maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by using specialised knowledge of the relevant technology to give customers the required information on operations and maintenance. The position is based in Lethlakane.

The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following key deliverables:

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Sales and Business Development

    • Retain 90% of existing business and increase market share by acquiring new customers.

    • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets as set in the budget.

  • Customer Service and Satisfaction

    • Ensure timely delivery of products and services as per customer requirements.

    • Conduct conveyor belt inspections upon customer request to maintain satisfaction and operational reliability.

  • Customer Relationship Management

    • Capture and regularly update customer information in the MATO database.

    • Prepare and submit accurate quotations as required.

  • Financial Responsibility

    • Ensure all expenditures are tracked and reconciled by the stipulated due dates.

  • Marketing and Promotion

    • Participate in industry exhibitions to promote the company’s products.

    • Support sales opportunities with relevant point-of-sale materials.

    • Conduct market research in assigned territories to identify trends and opportunities.

    • Deliver product presentations to customers when required.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Diploma in any Technical Field / Marketing.

  • Engineering qualification (Processing/Chemical/Metallurgical) will be added an advantage.

  • Sales/Marketing experience in Mining industry.

  • At least 3 years relevant sales experience.
