The positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland. SENIOR SPECIALIST – WAREHOUSING INVENTORY & MRO

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

To provide strategic and operational leadership in warehouse management, inventory control, and MRO materials coordination to ensure the availability, accuracy, and integrity of stock items supporting mining operations, while optimizing stock levels, minimising downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

  • Managing
    warehouse operations and ensuring efficient
    storage, issuance and replenishment of stock in line with operational demands and safety standards.
  • Developing and implementing inventory control systems, policies and procedures to maintain stock accuracy and reduce stock-outs or excesses.
  • Coordinating MRO material master data, classification and standardisation in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Conducting regular inventory cycle counts, full stock takes and variance investigations to ensure system accuracy.
  • Monitoring stock movement trends, analysing consumption patterns and adjusting reorder points and minimum stock levels accordingly.
  • Ensuring proper receiving, inspection, binning and dispatching of goods in compliance with company procedures.
  • Collaborating with procurement and maintenance teams to forecast and plan material requirements especially for critical spares and shutdowns.
  • Ensuring
    proper warehousing of hazardous materials in
    accordance with SHE regulations and legal requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse layout, picking efficiency, space utilisation and inventory turnover.
  • Managing and developing warehouse and inventory staff to ensure high performance and compliance.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, security and inventory record integrity within the warehouse.
  • Leading or supporting system integrations and enhancements within the ERP or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Maintaining and reporting on targets achieved against business model.
  • Ensuring adequacy of cost initiatives and benefits, minimising inventory value while ensuring sufficient support.
  • Ensuring seamless material flow, inventory accuracy and data integrity, while leveraging advanced technical skills to drive process optimization and data driven decision making
  • Ensuring Master Data and Ontology management to maintain up to date Master data while designing and maintaining Ontologies and taxonomies to standardize.
  • Validating and cleansing data to ensure reliability for supply chain analytics
  • Training and mentorship of subordinates to ensure development and provide guidance where necessary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in warehouse, inventory, or materials management, with at least 3 years in a senior or specialist role
  • Professional certification in inventory or warehousing (e.g., APICS CPIM, SAPICS, CILT) is an added advantage
  • Valid forklift and/or lifting equipment licenses (where applicable)
  • Experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Proven track record in managing MRO inventory and supporting maintenance planning
  • Exposure to SAP or similar ERP systems in a warehousing context
  • Experience in stock audits, space optimisation, and inventory performance improvement
